Free throws sunk the Eden Prairie Eagles, who committed 33 fouls, and the victorious Eastview Lightning made 75 percent of the 44 free throws offered them. Eden Prairie shot better from the field (48.7 percent) and also made 75 percent of its free throws, but was given only 16 opportunities. Eastview, which carried a 25-19 advantage into the halftime locker room, shot only 37.5 percent from the field, but 45.5 percent from three-point range. The teams played to a tie seven times in the second half and the lead changed hands 10 times. With about two-and-a-half minutes to play, Eden Prairie trailed by just one point but was held scoreless for the next two minutes. Eastview’s top scorer was senior Emee Udo with 17 points. Senior Kari Opatz added 15 points and junior Madison Guebert had 12. The Lightning will play for a championship for the third time, having finished as runners-up in 2000 and 2003. Their opponent Saturday will be either Bloomington Kennedy or Lakeville North. Eden Prairie, led by junior Emma Boehm’s game-high 22 points, will move to the third-place game on Saturday.
