MINNEAPOLIS -- Park Center will have a chance to repeat as Minnesota Class AAA state champions, after pulling away in the final minutes for a 47-37 win over Kasson-Mantorville in a semifinal contest on Thursday afternoon at Williams Arena.

The No. 2-seeded Pirates (24-7) will advance to face No. 4-seed Marshall in the Class AAA championship game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Williams Arena, while the Komets (29-3) will face top-seed Orono in the Class AAA third-place game on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Concordia-St. Paul.

Tied at 32-32 with 7:41 left, Park Center outscored Kasson-Mantorville by a 15-5 margin, with Hannah Schaub scoring eight points and Mikayla Hayes scoring six points in the final stretch.

Park Center had built a 10-point lead in the first half, before Kasson-Mantorville trimmed the advantage to two points, 18-16 at halftime.

Schaub led the Pirates with 12 points, adding six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Ann Simonet scored 11 points with a steal, and Hayes scored nine points with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Danielle Schaub scored six points with five assists.

For Kasson-Mantorville, Kristin Scott led the way with 19 points, 18 rebounds and three blocked shots. Maddie Worden came off the bench to score eight points with seven rebounds and four assists.

Kasson-Mantorville outrebounded Park Center by a 46-25 margin, but also had 24 turnovers to Park Centerís 10. Park Center converted 20 points off turnovers in the game.
