This will be the third year in a row with Blake and Benilde meeting for the state title. Blake recorded a 1-0 win in 2011 and Benilde won 3-2 last season.

Class 1A Boys
St. Paul Como Park 2, Sartell-St. Stephen 1: Senior forward Seik Seik scored both goals for the Cougars – one in each half – to boost them into Thursday’s 12:30 p.m. championship game. Como Park (18-0-3) will meet Waconia or Hill-Murray for the title. Kempton Schneider scored for Sartell (16-3-2) in the 55th minute. The Sabres outshot Como Park 15-14. Como Park, which made it first boys state soccer appearance last year, will play in its first state title game.

Hill-Murray 1, Waconia 0: Shae Bottum scored for the Pioneers less than two minutes into the game and that goal held up as Hill-Murray (13-4-3) advanced to the title game against Como Park. Hill-Murray outshot Waconia 11-2 in the first half and 14-7 overall. Hill-Murray has played in one previous championship game, losing to Hopkins 1-0 in 1983. Waconia (17-2-2) will face Sartell in Tuesday’s third-place game.

Class 2A Boys
North St. Paul 2, Andover 1: The Polars trailed 1-0 at halftime but scored twice in the second half to reach the state title game for the first time. Andover took an early lead on a goal by Ben Nivala before North St. Paul (19-1-1) answered with scores by Adam Hildebrandt and Tyler King. The Huskies (15-5-1) had 12 shots on goal to eight for North St. Paul.

Eastview 2, Edina 1 (4-2 shootout) : The defending state champion Lightning had to survive two 10-minute overtime periods and a shootout to defeat the Hornets.
