Congratulation to the latest Old Dutch Team of the Week and Athlete of the Week!

The Team of the Week is the Wayzata girls swimming and diving team. The Trojans captured their first-ever girls state swimming championship, besting the Class 2A field at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Wayzata had only one individual first-place finish in the three-day state championships, but gained points in every event. They finished with 275 points, followed by Minnetonka with 232. Last year Wayzata was the state runner-up.

The Athlete of the Week is Danielle Nack, a senior swimmer at Mankato West. Danielle capped a sterling high school career by winning the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly at the Class 1A state championships. It was her third consecutive state title in each event. Danielle also swam a leg on the Scarlets first-place 200 freestyle relay team and on their second-place 400 freestyle relay.

Danielle, who has a 3.85 grade-point average, ends her high school career with six individual state championships and two relay championships. She will continue her swimming career at the same place where she finished her prep career, because she will become a member of the Minnesota Golden Gophers swim program.

Congratulations to the Wayzata Trojans and Mankato West semior Danielle Nack for being this week's Old Dutch High School Team and Athlete of the Week!
